Who are these Royal Coachmen?

This is The Royal Coachmen.

The Royal Coachmen is a dining and event series that celebrates the outdoors, fly-fishing, and community. Founded in 2022 by James Park and Chef Doug Adams, The Royal Coachmen series has set out to create unique experiences by mixing premiere culinary artistry with scenic blue ribbon fly fishing locations. At its essence, The Royal Coachmen is about bringing people together – chefs, brewers, guides, local fishing experts, wine makers, and guests in creating a one-of-a-kind experience.

Doug Adams

Doug Adams is a chef, restauranteur, and avid fly fisherman. His accolades include 2015 EATER Chef of the Year in Portland, Best new Restaurants: Esquire Magazine, Chef of the Year 2019 from Willamette Week, a James Beard Rising Start nomination in 2015 and a being a finalist on Top Chef season 12 Boston.

In 2021 Doug made the difficult decision to leave his restaurants (Bullard, Abigail Hall, HollerPdx) and Holler Hospitality that he founded in Portland Oregon to focus on the outdoors, family, and cooking outside. You can often find him with his wife Whitney Burnside (brewmaster at 10 Barrel PDX) on the river sipping Oregon beer and casting for Redside Trout.

James Park

James Park is a Southern California native who has spent more time in the water than out of it. As an adult, he moved to San Francisco where he owned and operated his own company. Shortly thereafter, he discovered his passion for food, wine and fly fishing. It was then that he decided to exchange his suit and tie for waders, and travel the world to pursue his love for fly fishing.

Currently he lives in the Sacramento area with his wife Regan, where they raise their two boys EJ (9) and Paxon (5). He is the owner at Red Truck Fly Fishing Company and spends most of his free time with his family and chasing fish around the West Coast.
